Nm 20:1-13  Meribah:  Community to Moses:  “Why have you led us into this wretched, barren, desert to die?  Lord to Moses:  “Assemble community; strike rock; get water."  Moses struck twice; water gushed.  Lord:  “You weren't faithful, won't lead community to the land.”

Ps 95:1-2, 6-7, 8-9  If today you hear his voice, harden not your hearts.

Mt 16:13-23  Jesus at Caesarea Philippi:  “Who do people say Son is?”  “John, Elijah, Jeremiah, a prophet.”  “Who do you say I am?”  Simon:  “Christ, Son of God.”  “Blessed you; my Father revealed it.  Upon you, 'Peter,'  I'll build my Church; I'll give you keys of Kingdom.  Whatever you bind/loose on earth will have been so in heaven.  Tell no one..."  I must go, suffer, be killed, rise.  Peter:  "No!"  Jesus:  “Get behind me, Satan, obstacle!  You think as human, not God .”
