November 13, 2013: St. Frances Xavier Cabrini, virgin
Readings- Wis 6:1-11 Because you ministers didn't walk with God, he'll come against you. The lowly may be pardoned out of mercy, but rigorous scrutiny awaits those in power.
- Ps 82:3-4, 6-7 "Rise up, O God, bring judgment to the earth." Defend and deliver the lowly, afflicted, poor.
- Lk 17:11-19 Ten lepers: “Have pity on us!” All cleansed; one returns to thank. "Where are the other nine?" "Your faith has saved you.”
Reflections
- Pope Francis audience: "I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins": "Confess Baptism": we're God's children, immersed in Jesus' death, risen with him new, illuminated by grace, on conversion journey sustained by Sacrament of Penance. "For forgiveness of sins" opens door to life, mercy, peace, and joy for our restless hearts. Since human weakness remains, we confess our sins with humility.
- Creighton: May I be like the Samaritan, present and grateful.
- RC.net: Mercy fulfills justice. Do I thank God for help and mercy? Am I gracious and merciful to those in need?
- Universalis: St. Frances Xavier Cabrini, youngest of thirteen, foundress
- Marian retreat, day 9, per St. Maximilan Kolbe: Holy Spirit—Life and Love springing from Father/Son—is an immaculate, eternal, uncreated conception.
Music

- "Scales of justice" tie: judgment is stern for the exalted (1st reading); bring judgment to the earth (psalm)
